Challenges such as innovations, applications, case-histories, cost-reduction, changes in the legislative framework and increasing inspection costs warranted a special emphasis on applying Hazard identification techniques, HAZOP analysis, and other risk assessment methods on different industry activities to meet today’s challenges. To remain competitive there has been an increasing need to understand all details associated with the Hazard identification techniques, HAZOP analysis and other risk assessment methods.
The course will provide an outstanding opportunity for participants to share experience, achievements and expertise with colleagues from different disciplines to review and practice the concept of safe and cost effective risk management. It will firstly present a generic overview on the Hazard identifications emphasizing on HAZOP analysis and its application, followed by the nature and purpose of key HAZOP issues in industry / process operations. It will then share the basic vocabulary unique to the Hazards and operability in industrial plants. Following that, it will raise general awareness of the need to apply hazard identifications techniques, HAZOP analysis and risk assessment in industry / process operations and discuss the advantages, Limitations and range of applicability of applicability of each hazards analysis method so that its selection and integration into an overall model is fully understood.
The course will also share knowledge and experiences on HAZOP related issues in different industrial plant, which will further enable the participants to understand the impacts of industry activities on the HSE to discuss on professional level the best practical solutions and make/advise on well informed decisions for industry activities. The course will also help participants to judge the HSE consequences of, and advise on mitigating measures, for industry activities. Helping participants to judge when they have achieved a reliable operation in order to help balancing CAPEX and OPEX to ensure minimum life cycle cost.
