Lifting and transport operations are always an essential part of any construction project, both onshore and offshore. These operations usually have a high-risk profile and we see a lot of incidents and accidents happening around a lifting or transport operation. The only way to cope with these risks and to avoid having an incident or accident is a professional preparation of your job.
In this Master Class we will give a broad view on the elements that should be considered during the preparation of your lifting and transport operation. And the result will be a method statement, risk analysis and a lifting and transport plan, ready to be checked by a third party. And having his signature these docs form the basis for a safe, smooth, and professional operation, without any last-minute actions and with a client satisfied with the result.
This Master Class will focus on eight key areas, that should be part of any method statement. And to understand these, we will also give some refreshers on marine and structural engineering basics. The Master Class content is equally valuable to small independents, large integrated international companies, and national oil companies.
The Master Class consists of several lectures supported by some practical exercises and discussions. The examples are taken from the presenter’s 40 years’ experience in the lifting and transport business as well as the application of latest technologies.
Participants will gain proficiency in setting up a professional method statement and lifting / transport plan, a solid understanding of how and why these activities are undertaken and how to apply these key concepts directly in their business. Participants will engage in practical exercises to get a better feeling how to professionalize your job preparation.
