Process Safety Design, Analysis and Risk Management
A trouble-free journey to achieving accident hazard mitigation, ensuring facility integrity and ultimate capital expenditure savings
Workshop Overview
Oil and gas operation nowadays, especially when conducted in offshore context, remains one of most challenging engineering operation. Offshore oil and gas operation by its first nature are: remote and hazardous. As safety being the most important aspect of engineering design decision-making, it is paramount to all concern engineers understand it the best. Assessing and managing risk for maximum process safety is part of regulatory requirement as much as it is part of business plan. Though, engineers in oil and gas industries do use concept of risk in day-to-day design and operation. However, there is significant lack in understanding of fundamentals and more importantly how to assess risk, consider it for decision making and deliver powerful safety assurance. This process safety design course is relevant for engineers and technicians working on- and offshore with oil and gas within design, construction, maintenance and operations. It is a multidisciplinary course relevant for people within process, piping, electrical instrumentation, mechanical and safety disciplines. Structural engineers may also have some benefit of it. It provides a good understanding of all the elements in process safety. The many examples and videos of accidents in the past gives good knowledge of what typically goes wrong when major accidents happens in process plants.
