Workshop Overview
This 4-day oil and gas training course is specially designed to provide shore-based staff with an advanced understanding of:
The operation, handling and characteristics of supply boats, tugs and similar vessels
Supply vessel load planning, cargo handling, and loading bulk and deck cargo
The role and management of the supply base in support of offshore E&P operations
Health, Safety and Environmental issues, including regulatory frameworks relevant to safe and effective marine transport and supply base operations.
It will firstly cover the basics of Oil and Gas industry logistics will be covered, including the role of offshore supply bases, compatibility of bases and offshore vessels, and applicable QHSSE regulations. An additional exercise will be provided at the end of the day to assess the level of learning. Following that, it will explore the intricacies and challenges to facilities and estate management of a typical OSB infrastructure, as well as possible business models for such a base. It will continue with planning and organising resources for cargo and vessel operations, one of the major activities in an OSB. The day will end with a simple simulation exercise in planning for the arrival of an anchor handling tug with a rig. In the end, delegates will look into performance monitoring and evaluation applicable to OSBs, and an in-depth analysis of service level agreements in procurement and logistic context. The second half of day 3 will involve two exercises: defining the role and scope of OSB executives, and a final simulation exercise with a real OSB model and key requirements. The course will conclude with a discussion and feedback session.
